Residential day 2
Thursday 8th July | 7 comments
We had a rather early start to the morning due to the beautiful sunshine and a few chattering children. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and were ready to get going.
Today the children completed gorge scrambling, abseiling, canoeing and caving. Every single child (and adult) made it down the 60 ft drop to the gorge below and had a huge smile on their faces. We then made our way up and down the gorge; swimming in pools, jumping off rock edges and sliding down waterfalls.

It was a windy day down on the reservoir but the children showed great grit and determination. They had to paddle hard against the headwind and even used a special chant to help them keep in time ‘fish and chips’. Once out of the reservoir, they had to carry the heavy canoes up the hill and back to the trailer; it was a real workout!
We had a lovely pasta meal this evening followed by sponge cake and custard. The children also completed a night time walk which was very peaceful and full of beautiful scenery. We ended the walk with a hot chocolate and a biscuit.
We can’t wait to complete our final activities tomorrow which are Via Ferrata, caving and canoeing!
See you all tomorrow!
