Mr Cooke Maths 6th March 2015

0

We only had 3 sessions of maths this week due to World Book Day.

This week we have been:

  • consolidating knowledge and understanding of area and perimeter
  • solving problems related to area and perimeter
  • telling the time
  • solving problems related to time

The children had to work out the area and perimeter for the shapes below. Perhaps you could also discuss this with them?

Area and Perimeter

The children also had to say what the problem was with these 4 clock faces – can you spot the issue? We then used clocks to estimate the time that they were telling.

Time

Homework:

The homework is below. Some children borrowed a small clock to help them complete the homework tasks. If your child is not confident telling the time then it would be really beneficial if you spent some additional time teaching them to do this and these clocks are a really useful resource to support this learning.

Best wishes
